2023 ACCOUNTANCY SERVICE AWARDS

The CPA of the Year Award recognises a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who has made outstanding contributions to the accountancy profession in Uganda and beyond. The Award may be received more than once and cannot be granted posthumously.

Eligibility Criteria.

1. The candidate, by his or her merits and accomplishments represents a model of what ICPAU espouses in terms of professional conduct and technical proficiency;
2. The candidate made outstanding contributions to the success of a particular project or initiative that had/has remarkable impact on the profession within Uganda;
3. The candidate maintained a professional career for at least 10 years, be it in public practice or the private or public sectors that are highly recognized by the profession and can be evaluated as such.
4. The candidate published relevant papers, books, or articles in any of the fields covered by the accountancy profession or related sciences.

Award Criteria / Reason for Nomination

1. Describe a particular project, activity or initiative undertaken by the nominee which created impact for the accountancy profession?
Has served Buganda Kingdom (one of the indigenous Kingdoms in Uganda) since 1996
2. In what capacities has the nominee served the accountancy profession?
has lectured, regulated and practiced accounting, auditing and finance for over 30 years
3. Please mention any publications/ articles, presentations that the nominee has contributed to.
4. What abilities does the nominee have that make him/her standout?
he is a professor of auditing and accounting at Makerere University Business Schoo
5. Which assignments has the nominee undertaken that have influenced others?
